Two acts one night!
We are pleased to have the daughter/father duo of Callahan Bridge join us again this year. Wonderful music from wonderful people make for, you guessed it…a wonderful night.
Callahan Bridge is fiddler Raelin Callahan and guitarist Kevin Callahan. The daughter/father duo is passionate about bridging generations, time past and present, locations far and near. They play music from Irish, Scottish, Quebecois, American Old Time, and other traditions. They consider these songs to be living treasures, and see themselves as both carriers of tradition as well as interpreters through the contemporary times.
Musician Bios
Raelin Callahan, Fiddle
Raelin started playing fiddle when she was nine years old. She played classically for two years in the Suzuki Method, and at 11 switched to playing traditional music. Now she plays fiddle music from a few different traditions, including Irish, Quebecois, and Scottish.
Kevin Callahan, Guitar
Kevin's musical journey began as a choral singer, where he discovered a deep love singing music from the Renaissance period. At 21, he was introduced to guitar. Early influences included James Taylor and Paul Simon. After many years of not playing, the songwriting of Gregory Alan Isakov inspired him to once again play. It wasn't long before he and Raelin were learning to play together!
